Nubra Valley offers beautiful scenery with green village formed by deep cut of Shyok river and Nubra Valley. Spending night in the tent also adds to the thrill of the visitors. On the way to Nubra Valley,the spectacular Khardungla Top, the highest motorable road in the world, presents a heaven like sight.
Pangong Lake is another spectacular destination. The crystal clear water surrounded by different species of birds rejuvenates the mind. The sight of brown rugged mountains in the midst of cobalt blue hue of the sky and water is breathtaking. Sunrise and sunset are amazing. Even in this sparsely populated region there are tents laid for the visitors. On the way, the Chang La Pass provides the panoramic view of snow capped mountains all over.
Tso Moriri lake is another high altitude lake, however, quite different from Pangong. Green marshes and grasslands dot the boundary of the lake and this is what makes it unique. The sole attraction of this place is mainly cycling and trekking. Numerous rare species of birds are found too.
Other places of interest around the Leh Town include Leh Palace and Stokes Palace. Leh Palace, constructed over elevated platform presents a beautiful view of the whole town. The Stokes palace consists of a museum displaying weapons, coins, jewellery, costumes, furniture used by the Royal Family. The Leh palace, Shanti Stupa, Semo Monastery can be visualized from its terrace. Shanti Stupa is another magnificent construction and provides a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The Hemis and Thikse Monasteries are worth visiting.
On the surface, Ladakh tour may seem impeccable, but there are a number of safety precautions to be taken. Tourists are advised not to get over excited and play with snow or run for a longer period of time for, it may cause serious problems. The bikers are also expected to know the basic job of mechanic in case of emergency.
